birthday weekend

Since Eric's and my birthday are so close together (I'm April 6th and he's April 16th), we decided to go back down to Seaside, OR to celebrate and relive our engagement. Eric took me to Seaside 2 years ago for a birthday weekend and then surprised me and proposed! So this time we stayed at the same hotel and ate at the same restaurant and took the same walk down the beach to the place we're we got engaged. It was a great weekend and actually ended up being almost exactly the same as 2 years ago because of the weather. You'd think we'd be able to figure out that the weather on the coast isn't good this time of year, yet we continue to visit in the cold and rain.

On Saturday we drove down (or is it up?) to Cannon Beach to a nearby park where there have apparently been some whale sighting...we didn't see any though. Then on Sunday (my actual birthday) we drove home the long way up the coast and over and unfortunately Eric got a speeding ticket to top off the weekend, boo. Even with the bad weather and the ticket the weekend was still really great and maybe next time we'll visit in August.
