feeling crafty

I don't know why, but lately I've been feeling like I need to craft. I've gotten into reading all sorts of different craft blogs and then I think, "I can do that too!". 2 of my favorite sites are Homemade by Jill and MADE. These 2 women are amazing crafters and so nice to share tutorials of some of their work, please check them out!

I've never had a hobby before (because I'm pretty lazy), but I just really feel like I need to do something with myself and be creative. My mom and my sister are so creative and very artistically gifted, they both draw and paint beautifully. My mom also does other crafting odds and ends...growing up she would make us Christmas dresses and always sewed curtains and things for the house and just really knew her way around a sewing machine. I just want to be like my mom and my sister and make something cute and have fun.

In college I actually loved to cut out pictures and fun shapes from different magazines and make random collages. I really love collages (see my masterful "50 years of Matt" post below). I've been thinking a lot about trying out decoupage. I'm also about to go buy a sewing machine and a hot glue gun and some stuff like that.
