Last night Eric was able to raise the cabinet above the fridge and it was surprisingly painless! Then he took off all the floor trim in the entry and kitchen and ripped out the linoleum. Tonight we're going to take out the trim and linoleum in the bathrooms and also test some grout colors to see which ones work best with our tile choices.
On the subject of choices in general...I pick something and think it's good and then I over think it and end up hating it. I'm trying not to be like that with this project but I guess I'm just so worried about picking the wrong thing because tiling is a huge job and it's not like you can just rip it out and change it. Plus, I had no idea you have to remove the toilets in the bathroom to be able to tile; I just thought you tile around the toilet. So hearing that news about the toilet removal made me really nervous for some reason.
We definately know what tile we're using in the bathrooms (it's off while with some brown marbeling, looks very clean); but the kitchen is a whole different story. We've bought about 4-5 different tiles to sample in the kitchen and I think we have setteled on a reddish/brown copper tile. Sorry I can't explain it better than that but it's definitly dark and I think the contrast between the tile and the carpet and the cabinets is a good fit. Of course I'm second guessing the choice every other minute, but it's really the best option we've seen. I actually kind of like how different it is and I think it will give our condo more charater. I think I'm mainly worried that when people visit they'll leave thinking our tile is horrible...I have nightmares about it, sad :(
