I know it seems like all I do is talk about renovation projects, but that's seriously all that's been going on with us lately - so here is another story to bore you...

This weekend we are installing tile in our entry, kitchen, bathrooms and laundry closet. Eric's Dad just bought a tile cutting saw so my in-laws are heading over here this weekend to help with the floors.

The hardest part is picking the right tile because we have to find something that will compliment the tone of the new carpet. The problem is, in certain light the carpet has a pink tint, so it's been hard to find a good tile that has the same sort of color tone. I also can't decide between 12x12 tiles or 16x16 tiles. I read yesterday that the bigger the tile the bigger the room will look and that with bigger tiles you're using less grout and that's always a good thing because it can be hard to clean. We've been to Lowe's and Home Depot, but tonight we're going to check out the Lynwood Lowe's because Eric thinks it's probably bigger and would have a better selection.

There are also a couple of tiny problems that need correcting before this installation can happen...we have to somehow get the fridge out and take out the cabinet above it because once the tile is in the fridge will be up higher and there's no room for that right now. We also need to take out all the old tile that's in the entry right now. I'm not looking forward to this part because of the noise it will cause...you basically just brake it with a sledge hammer and pry it out (not exactly a quiet project for a condo).
